The Personal Note

The personal note can be a very effective means of communication, be it a note of encouragement, accolades for a job well done, or just a thank you for whatever reason. The personal note can be very effective in both your business and personal life. When was the last time you knew someone that became upset with a kind, handwritten or typed personal note? ( I typed many of my notes over the years because I wasn’t a fan of my penmanship).

The personal note shows thoughtfulness. For the person writing it, he or she must put in the time and effort to transcribe a considerate message. Personal notes also demonstrate sincerity and originality. In other words, they come from the heart.

Photo 1 - Nice handwritten letter from a GF after a weekend trip. Personal notes in relationships can be very effective lines of communication. You get encouragement like this from a loved one, it lets you know you're appreciated and loved

Photo 2 - It's really cool when a customer writes you a handwritten letter after they received their KLOVEIT photo blocks in the mail.

Photo 3 - This "typed" letter from an old boss changed my career. After these words of encouragement, I cut off my mullet, kicked off the flip-flops, and started wearing business attire with a tie every day. This company ended up spending thousands of dollars on me training me in frontline leadership so I would have the skills and know-how to lead an organization. A year after this letter I was running a call center with 300 employees and making 80k a year. I was on top of the world. This letter was a game changer and set up a career that saw me manage thousands of employees and set up several successful business ventures.

I found this letter next to my dad's bed in his last days. He was very proud of this letter and was very thankful for Craig, who through these words changed his son's life

Photo 4 - As many know I have launched a new business called KLOVEIT. Currently, I am trying to write personal letters to every customer so they know I appreciate their business. As sales continue to grow and me being a solopreneur I will probably have to change this practice just a little. But, I will not abandon this practice entirely.

Photo 5 - Thank you note to a vendor. Recently I had a vendor helping me with a project and with his experience, he implemented a process that saved hours in production and made for a more consistent quality project. A wrote a simple letter showing my gratification for a job well done.
